Privacy Policy
Effective 31 July 2026
uxearch connects teams building software with people willing to test it. Running that means handling personal data — including screen and voice recordings — so this page sets out exactly what we collect, who sees it, and how long we keep it. We are the personal information controller for that data under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
uxearch is in early access. This policy describes the service as it works today, and we will update it as the product changes.
What we collect
Everyone with an account. Your email address, and whether the account runs studies or takes part in them.
Everyone, as you use the site. Which pages you visit and what you click, and a replay of how you moved through uxearch's own screens — rebuilt from the page itself rather than filmed. It never includes the screen or window you share during a session, your microphone, or anything you type into a form.
Participants. When you complete your participant profile we collect your full name, mobile number, age range, gender, nationality, country and area of residence, your education, employment and household details, the devices, operating systems and browsers you use, whether you have taken part in research recently, and a short bio.
Participants, during a session. A recording of the screen or window you chose to share and of your microphone, still frames taken from that recording as you move between tasks, your answers and difficulty ratings for each task, any notes you write, and how long each task took. A record of your consent — the date and the version of the terms you agreed to — is stored separately.
Customers. The address of the product you want tested, your description of it, and your description of the participants you are looking for.
We also keep basic technical logs, including error reports, to keep the service running.
How we use it
- To match participants to studies they fit, and to run sessions.
- To transcribe session recordings and generate a findings report for the customer whose study it was.
- To pay participation incentives, where a study offers them.
- To contact you about a study you are part of, or about your account.
- To diagnose faults and keep the service secure.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who sees your session recording
Your recording, its transcript, your task answers and your notes are shared with the customer who created the study you took part in. That is the purpose of the session, and it is what you consent to before recording starts.
Your name, contact number and exact location are never shown to customers. Neither is our internal assessment of how well you match a study.
You control what is on screen. You choose which window or screen to share, and we ask you to close anything personal before you start. If something private appears in a recording, tell us and we will delete it.
Service providers we use
We share data with the following providers strictly to operate the service. Some process data outside the Philippines.
- Supabase — accounts, database, and storage of recordings and frames.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Inngest — queueing the background jobs that process recordings.
- OpenAI — transcribing session audio, and generating parts of study content and reports.
- Anthropic — generating study tasks, findings reports, and participant matching.
- ScreenshotOne — capturing images of customer-submitted pages. This handles no participant data.
- Sentry — error monitoring.
- PostHog — usage analytics, and replays of how people move through uxearch's own pages, so we can find the parts of the service that confuse people. This is not the session recording described above and is never shared with customers: it captures only uxearch's own screens, never the screen or window you share during a session and never your microphone. Anything you type into a form is hidden before it leaves your browser, as are your email address, your recordings and transcripts, and anything you wrote about yourself.
How long we keep it
Session recordings and captured frames are deleted 90 days after the session. Transcripts, task answers and reports are kept for as long as the study's customer keeps the study, because they are the result the study exists to produce. Deleting a study deletes its sessions and their recordings.
Profile data is kept while your account is open. Consent records are kept after a recording is deleted, since they are the evidence that the recording was made with your permission.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to be informed, to object, to access, to correct, to erase or block, to damages, to data portability, and to complain to the National Privacy Commission. In practice:
- You can view and correct your profile at any time from your dashboard.
- You can withdraw from a study you have accepted, and you can ask us to delete a recording you have already made.
- You can ask us to close your account and erase your data by emailing hello@uxearch.io.
Withdrawing consent does not affect anything already lawfully done with your data before you withdrew it, and we may keep the minimum needed to meet a legal obligation.
Children
uxearch is for adults. You must be 18 or older to take part in a session, and we confirm this before every recording. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes and contact
If we make a material change to this policy we will tell account holders by email. For anything about your data, including a request to delete it, contact hello@uxearch.io.
